Wanaparthy: Vigilance Enforcement officials seized Rs 4 lakh worth of 205 quintals of PDS rice near Natchahalli village in the mandal on Sunday.
According to the Enforcement officials, a lorry loaded with the rice meant for PDS coming from Suryapet to Santhinagar was stopped by the officials on a tip-off.
People complained that a major share of ration items, especially rice, was being diverted to black market in spite of the government’s commitment to curb it.
