Hyderabad: Education in today’s scenario aims at the holistic development of the children to moot the interest of learning science. Learning science is fun when one starts exploring his topics of study. Schools conduct science fairs on National Science Day to mark respect to C V Raman for his great discovery – The Raman effect. This is the day, when we not only think of this great scientist but also all the other scientists for their great inventions and discoveries which has made our life much easier than it was earlier. A fact is accepted when nobody else disputes or refutes the theory.
Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet turned into a “research- oriented laboratory” when the students of the school came out with brilliant science activities with no exception even of the pre-primary classes. As has been the practice or customary, initially children spoke about C V Raman and his theory of light, later presented their projects. Some of the exhibits were based on air pressure, Archimedes principle and so on. It made the visitors and parents who had come to see the display spell bound. It was the first of its kind to hold a science display for the pre primary classes.
It was a delight to watch children of 3, 4 and 5 years old explaining their science activity with exuberance and enthusiasm. It indeed proved that Science Day, though celebrated for a single day, every day can be a celebration if the subject is thought and learnt the fun way, satiating the thirst for knowledge. Catch them young and ignite the young minds was proved on the Science Day in Sister Nivedita School.
