Brinda: TDP is Telugu Destruction Party
CPM Politburo Member Brinda Karat: TDP is Telugu Destruction Party, the TDP had opened the floodgates to the entry of the communal BJP into Andhra Pradesh, and there was a need to stall it by voting against the combine.
Visakhapatnam: CPM Politburo member Brinda Karat has described the TDP-BJP poll alliance as blatant opportunism. Talking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, she said thanks to the poll pact, the TDP had opened the floodgates to the entry of the communal BJP into Andhra Pradesh, and there was a need to stall it by voting against the combine.
Commenting that the TDP now meant Telugu Destruction Party, she urged the electorate to reject the duo. On BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Brinda Karat said that he should learn lessons from history before aspiring to become the Prime Minister. Modi’s comments on Article-370 exposed his impatience and he was a representative of the corporates and the RSS, she remarked.
Saying that RSS stood not for Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh but Rashtriya Sarvanasak Sangh, the CPM leader said the Gujarat model was not suitable for the country. Replying to a question, she said the BJP seemed to be in favour of two-party system and there was not much of a difference in the economic policies of the Congress and the BJP.
