Impressive Bharatanatyam debut

Peravali Haneela presented Bharatanatyam Arangetram at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College on Guru Purnima last Friday. She started her dance recital with ‘Alarippu’ in Ragamalika Raga. Later, she performed ‘Jatiswaram’ in Kalyani Raga and ‘Padavarnam’ composed by Ponniah Pillai in Kamas Raga.

Her footwork and facial expressions were accurate for the Pancharatna Keerthana of saint composer Sri Thyagaraja Swamy. She won the appreciation of the audience with her ‘Javali’ in Poorvi Kalyani Raga. The dance recital concluded with `Thillana’.Sri Kumara Suryanarayana and Darbha Mrudu Ravali lent vocal support to the recital. The musical support of Palaparthi Anjaneyulu on violin, M Vijayakumar on mridangam, Venkatesh on flute and K Sashidhar on veena ensured Haneela’s Arangetram impressive.

Haneela who is a BTech (Architecture) student, has a diploma in Bharatanatyam. Later, her Gurus Hemanth Kumar and his wife Padmasri were felicitated. Participating in the programme as chief guest, Deputy Speaker of Assembly Mandali Buddha Prasad congratulated Haneela for her performance and advised her to focus on practice to scale greater heights. MC Das presided. Kuchibhotla Anand, chairman of Kuchipudi Natyaramam, SB Rao, Dean of Delhi Public School and others were present.
