HICC is Best Standalone Convention Centre

Hyderabad International Convention Centre added another feather to its hat by clinching the prestigious ‘Best Standalone Convention Centre’ National Tourism Award, conferred by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. This was the fifth time that the world-class Convention Centre picked up the coveted award, underlining its significant contribution to the global and national MICE segment over the years, as well as reinforcing Hyderabad’s status as a premium MICE destination.

The award ceremony was held on Saturday at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, and was instituted by the Ministry of Tourism to promote excellence and recognise the efforts put in by various stakeholders in development and promotion of India Tourism.

Hyderabad International Convention Centre is India's first purpose-built convention facility managed by AccorHotels, the world's leading hospitality and tourism management group, and is jointly owned by Emaar Properties PJSC Dubai and Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd.

The venue witnessed an eventful 2015, hosting several critical international and national conferences, memorable corporate events, industry exhibitions and also star-studded social events. Some of the most ambitious government initiatives like Swachh Telangana and Make in Telangana were kick-started here in the same year that also saw impact-driving international conferences like International Parallel & Distributed Processing Symposium and International Conference on Materials at the state-of-the-art venue. Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)Global Meeting, World Stroke Congress and International Congress on Infectious Diseases are among some of the major conferences that the venue is hosting in 2016.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Sumitra Mahajan, Speaker, Lok Sabha, and was presided over by Dr Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism and Culture. Well known personalities from the travel and tourism sector across the globe attended the exciting celebration and joined in applauding the excellence by brands in the industry.
