​Mancherial: The railway police on Monday took four people of Maharashtra into custody in the case of illegal transportation of liquor in 1,200 quarter bottles worth Rs 60,000 to Maharashtra.

Speaking to the media, railway sub-inspector Bansilal said that the accused were identified as Eknath Thakur, Rakesh, Vinod and Gouse.

“We got clear information that the accused purchased liquor from a wine shop in Kagaz Nagar. The accused were in the business since there was a ban on liquor in Maharashtra.

Sammi Reddy of Kagaz Nagar, who sold liquor to the accused, was also taken into custody,” he added.
