Warangal: Unlike any other temple and on the lines of Bhadrachalam, the Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple at Kummariwada in Rangasaipet in Warangal celebrates Sri Rama Navami for one week.

The celebrations concluded with Sri Sitharamachandra Swamy Rathotsavamu, held on a grand note with religious fervour here on Monday.

The temple was decorated beautifully and was packed with hundreds of devotees from neighbouring colonies to participate in the chariot procession, started at 9.30 am and concluded by 3 pm, covering the temple surrounding areas.

Women devotees dressed in traditional attire along with their children participated in the chariot procession singing songs, giving haratis, offering coconuts. A few of them even played kolatam in front of the procession, while men pulled the chariot raising slogans of Jai Sri Ram, Jai Jai Ram Sita Ram and Sitharamachandra Swami ki Jai.

Temple chief priest Thirumala Sridharacharyulu said, “The celebrations started from April 4 with ‘Agni Pratishtapana’ followed by other rituals like those in Bhadrachalam, celestial wedding on April 5, Hunaman Seva on April 6, Garuda Seva on April 7, Hamsa Seva on April 8, Purnahuti and Bandla Jatara on April 9 and on the last day on April 10 the celebrations are concluded on a grand note with Swamy vari Rathotsavam.”
