Hyderabad: The Greater City Goods Transporters Association on Monday demanded the government to rationalise the diesel prices, which are much higher when compared to neighbouring States of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

In a press conference, the Association president, Rayees Quadri and General Secretary, S N Gupta demanded the State government to control the prices of diesel and other petroleum products, as truck operations are being affected due to the regular prices rise. They pointed out that in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu the prices were lesser when compared to Telangana owing to uneven tax regime.

“The entire transport industry is effected and government should take all the necessary steps to ensure smoother operations. We demand that the government decrease the prices, since other factors like Toll Tax were already affecting the trade,” they said.
