Kenes Exhibition, in partnership with Hyderabad International Trade Expositions Ltd (Hitex), will organise Agritex 2015, a two-day international exhibition, in the city on March 31 and April 1. As a concerted effort to sustain and augment agriculture in the newly-formed State, the expo will bring together the farming community, agri-specialists and agri-service providers on a single platform.

“Here, farmers would be trained and offered integrated solutions to improve productivity and simplify farming, while agri-service providers would get the opportunity to showcase and market their products, techniques and technologies to the participating community,” said the organisers.

“There is a drastic decline in the farming incomes, resulting in widespread agrarian distress and reflecting a grave real-life condition,” said agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy. “Now, the government is supporting the sector with path-breaking policies, which are likely to unfold brighter days for farmers.

The government is committed to making Hyderabad the seed capital of India. The expo is an attempt in that direction to help farmers increase productivity and decrease costs,” he added. About 2,000 visitors attended last year’s event.
