Face is the index of the mind, goes an old saying. “Your writing is an index and a bird eye view of who you are,” opines Samitha Pandya, a city-based graphologist. Face is the index of the mind, goes an old saying. “Your writing is an index and a bird eye view of who you are,” opines Samitha Pandya, a city-based graphologist. According to her, “Your signature and hand writing will reveal a lot about your personality, character, likes and dislikes. In a nut shell, your writing can give out your psychological profile.” She also informs that with a little effort one can change his life by changing the way he/she writes.

The head of Graphology Institute, which has been training kids and young adults in hand writing shares that graphology, is yet to catch up in India. “There is a craze for graphology abroad, though we in the country are aware, it hasn’t been given its due,” she quips.Graphology is commonly associated as an aide in criminal investigation, but Samitha shares that it can be used to delineate as many as 102 different qualities of human beings.

“Small changes to the way you write can bring about big change in your life. Many find it hard to believe, but it is true and there are proven records,” she says. “The slant, crossing of ‘t’, dotting the ‘i’, the lean of the letters, the spacing, each characteristic of hand writing denotes a certain aspect of one’s character. For example those who signatures are clear, legible with equal spacing of letters are planned, systematic and determined in life.

The likes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar come in this category. Likewise those whose letters are rounded with more spacing are sensitive in nature and those whose writing is illegible are just like their writing,” Samitha shares. She opines that if parents learn graphology they can see and as well change their children writing and thereby can impart character and discipline in their lives. “When we write, our thoughts are transmitted via nerves to our hands,” she adds.
