Khammam: Deputy Superintendent of Police K Suresh Kumar here in Khammam on Sunday urged people to observe two-minute silence at 11.00 am as a mark of homage to brave soldiers and the freedom fighters, on the occasion of Martyrs Day on January 30 (Shaheed Diwas).

He said it was everyone’s responsibility to pay homage to the freedom fighters, who fought for the freedom, welfare and progress of the nation and sacrificed their lives during their fight against the British.

“As par the directions given by the State government to commemorate the brave soldiers and freedom fighters, the traffic will be stopped for two minutes at 11.00 am.

Everyone in the city where ever they are present voluntarily must stand still observing silence for two minutes,” said the DSP.

He further urged the managements of educational institutions and prayer houses to arrange the siren at 11.00 am in this regard.
