Arya Vysyas, Bahujana JAC spar over Ilaiah’s book

Khammam: A heated argument between the representatives of Arya Vyshyula Sangham (AVS) and Bahujana Joint Action Committee led to clashes when the representatives of both the bodies intercepted each other at ZP Centre in Khammam on Wednesday.

Opposing the book written by Prof Kanche Ilaiah against Arya Vyshyas, the representatives of AVS observed closure of business centres and took out a bike rally from Varthaka Sangham Building to Zilla Parishad.

Meanwhile, members of Bahujana Joint Action Committee held a massive rally extending their support to Prof Ilaiah and presented a memorandum to the statue of B R Ambedkar at the ZP Centre.

When the bike rally of AVS reached ZP Centre, some of the members of Bahujana JAC intercepted the AVS members. Soon, a heated argument ensued between the agitating members of both bodies.

Meanwhile, the police who arrived at the spot intervened and sent the members of Bahujana JAC into the Zilla Parishad Hall and closed the gates. However, Bahujana JAC members by climbing over the gate clashed with the representatives of AVS.

The police by deploying extra forces arrested the JAC members Badhru Naik, Y Vinay Kumar, D Satyanarayana, Ramesh, Veeranna Naik, Ravinder, Lakshman and Nagaraju and sent them to the police station.

AVS representatives’ M Krishna Murthy, K Naresh, Balagangadar Tilak and K Veerabhadram took part in the bike rally along with others.
