The south-west monsoon lay poised on the southern border of Telangana on Wednesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the northern limit of the monsoon lay just along the south of Telangana and by Thursday afternoon, the advancement of south-west monsoon could be further into some parts of Telangana due to the favourable atmospheric conditions.

Also, the IMD revealed the possibility of the entire State being covered by the monsoon on Friday.

While the onset of the monsoon over Telangana was slightly behind normal, the monsoon, according to IMD had advanced in some more parts of south interior Karnataka, south coastal Andhra Pradesh most parts of Rayalaseema, and large shrouds of Bay of Bengal so far.

Accordingly, the rest of the country is likely to be covered between June 9 and 11.

Moderate rain or thundershowers can be witnessed at some places in Telangana as the weather department warned of isolated places in the state might experience thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds or heavy rains.
