Reddy man harrasses North East Couple
A case was booked with the Ashok Nagar police under a case of sexual harassment IPC 354A, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace IPC 504 and criminal intimidation IPC 506 against an Andhra man belonging to the Reddy community
Bangalore: A case was booked with the Ashok Nagar police under a case of sexual harassment (IPC 354A), intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace (IPC 504) and criminal intimidation (IPC 506) against an Andhra man belonging to the Reddy community.
Mahipal Reddy - the accused was caught clicking pictures of a woman while she and her husband were shopping at Brigade road. On noticing, the husband confronted him to delete the pictures. The man responded saying he will "screw the couple's life because he is a Reddy". The couple lodged a formal police complaint despite a crowd of onlookers wanting to beat up the accused.
The Shillong couple said the incident left them in bad taste and the woman wasn't able to go in to work due to the trauma. They had even cancelled her birthday plans. They stated that they'd lived in places with higher crime rates than in India, but never faced an issue like this. Mahipal Reddy is currently in the hospital as he faced cardiac issues during interrogation.
