New Delhi: A Leh-bound South Korean passenger was on Thursday apprehended by the Central Industrial Security Force at the IGI airport here for allegedly carrying an unauthorised satellite phone, a senior official said.

J Geonchang (35), who had a South Korean passport, was apprehended by CISF personnel after the satellite phone was detected in his baggage, he said. Geonchang was handed over to the Delhi Police as carrying a satellite phone is against the law, an official said.

Only defence and other authorised personnel are allowed to possess the communication gadget, he added. This is the fourth such incident in the last month.

Earlier an Indian, a Danish and a British national have been apprehended at this airport for the same offence.
