Muthyalamma Jatara from today

Nellore: The most popular three-day Muthyalamma Jatara will begin at Turpu Kanupur of Chillakur mandal in the district from April 2. Officials are estimating about 10 lakh devotees from various districts of the State and also from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka states. Goddess Mutyalamma Talli is the village deity and every year Jatara is performed one week before Ugadi festival for the deity. RTC will run special buses to Turpu Kanupur, which is 60 km away from Nellore and 30 km away from Gudur. The Jatara will start with the installation of Goddess Poleramma from Tuesday and conclude on Friday with the celebration of sending the Goddess. Gudur Sub-Collector Nivas is reviewing the arrangements to provide hassle-free darshan to all devotees.
