Collector opens blood donation camp

Nellore: District Collector B Sreedhar said that rearing cattle and other animals would help develop the animal husbandry and also contribute to the ecological balance. He participated in the special programme organised by the animal husbandry department on the occasion of World Veterinary Day here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Sreedhar lauded the research works being carried out in the field of animal husbandry that would be useful for the mankind. The Collector inaugurated the blood donation camp set up here by the officials concerned. Some saplings were planted during the programme. He congratulated the doctors who donated blood at the animal husbandry district office and felicitated the retired officials of the department. Animal Husbandry joint director Bhaskar and other officials were present on the occasion.

Collector visits children hospital Collector B Sreedhar asked the health and medical officials to provide nutrient food to the poor and infants in the rural areas properly. He inspected the distribution of nutrient food in the local Rebala Children's hospital. He held a review meeting with the local doctors, officials and staff. "Encourage poor pregnant women and women who delivered babies to visit Nutrition Rehabilitation Centres," the Collector said.
