After immense pressure from all quarters to resign from his post, BCCI president N Srinivasan has called for anA emergency meeting of the board in Chennai at 2:30 pm on Sunday.
It is expected that the beleaguered president may announce his resignation from the post after virtually every member has been vouching for his ouster from the Board. Srinivasan had earlier planned to convene the Working Committee meeting on June 8 but immenseA pressure over the arrest of his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan on betting charges forced him to advance it to hold the meet tomorrow. "An emergent Working Committee meeting will be held in Chennai at 11 am," BCCI Game Development Manager Ratnakar Shetty said in an announcement that came hours after Vice-President Arun Jaitley and Joint Secretary Anurag Thakur told reporters to wait for a "significant" development in a day. "Wait for a day, you will hear something significant," said Mr. Jaitley when asked if the five vice-presidents of the Board, including him, could put in their papers on Saturday.
