Hyderabad: Displaying a consistent all-round superiority all through, and riding on the exploits of man of the series, Sandeep Metro India emerged as the deserving winner of the inaugural edition of TN Pillay Memorial inter-media six-a-side T20 cricket tournament here lateWednesday evening.The event was jointly organised by EMSJA and Sports Coaching Foundation (SCF) in the latter’s complex at Masab Tank.
Electing to bat, Metro India piled up a handsome 73 runs for the loss of four wickets with man of the match Tirumala Reddy remaining unbeaten on 25. No 1 TV failed to accelerate the chase and were restricted to 63 for three to hand over the eventual titlist a ten-run win.
Later, at an impressive function, T Muralikrishna, Joint Commissioner, City Police, gave away the awards and appreciated the media personnel for organising the tournament.
Veteran sports journalists M A Rahim and Srinivasan were felicitated by K Sai Baba, Secretary of the Foundation. Rajamouli Chary, Secretary, Press Club of Hyderabad and J Srinivasulu from EMSJA, also spoke on the occasion.
