Hyderabad: A fresh row erupted between Andhra Pradesh State Public Service Commission (APPSC) and Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) as the latter accused the APPSC for not sharing office files and furniture.

A mild tension prevailed at the TSPSC Bhavan here on Thursday as about 90 employees of TSPSC staged a dharna at the administration room of APPSC.

The work came to a standstill as employees of TSPSC locked down latter’s administration room.

Protesting employees said that they had been pursuing the matter of sharing files with the APPSC officials for the last 10 days and all their efforts went in vain. A TSPSC employee said files which were with TSPSC were handed over to APPSC long ago. “According to a GO, all files will be shared between both the commissions.

During the process, we have also shared some files. But now the APPSC officials are refusing to share the files and want to delay the process of job notification of TSPSC,” said Pavan Kumar Goud, secretary, TSPSC Employees’ Association.

An employee of the TSPSC said with no files in place they got nothing to do.

“How can we work without files? We are getting paid for doing nothing,” the employee added.

Employees of the commissions have entered into a truce after the intervention of secretaries of both the commissions.

“Due to differences among the nodal officers of both commissions, the issue surfaced. Besides, some files are pending with the government. As a result, the commission could not share with TSPSC.

The issue has been resolved after intervention of both commissions’ secretaries and administrative office was unlocked by TSPSC employees,” Ramesh, president, APPSC employees’ association said.

TSPSC members to meet tomorrow
Hyderabad: The Telangana Public Service Commission (TSPSC) members will meet on Saturday to finalise the report submitted by the expert committee on the Groups examination scheme and syllabus.

According to the official sources, finalised report will be sent to the government approval. The examination scheme and outlay of syllabus would be released by the government in two or three weeks, added the sources. Sources said the commission would write to the government to give clarity about a GO on converting executive posts of Group II into Group I.

An official of TSPSC said there would be a complete wipe out of Andhra Pradesh content in the examination syllabus. “Andhra Pradesh history, culture, geography and economics will be replaced with Telangana and rest of the syllabus will remain the same. Gist of the syllabus has been incorporated in the report and expert committee members are still working in detail on the syllabus,” said an official of TSPSC.

In wake of formation of new State of Telangana, the TSPSC has constituted the committee to review and revise existing scheme of examination and syllabus. The committee submitted a report to the commission over existing schemes and syllabus.
