Hyderabad: The TDP, which is groping in dark in Telangana State, has decided to unveil a massive campaign to highlight the failure on the part of the TS government to implement the electoral promises, while the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh had successfully implemented its promises and had taken up several welfare schemes.
A top leader of the party said the objective behind the campaign was to compare the administrative acumen and the performance of the two Chief Ministers. The issues the party would highlight would include the failure of the TS government to implement its flagship schemes- like two bedroom housing scheme, distribution of three acres of land to Dalits and Tribals, reservations to Muslims and STs.
The government had failed in ensuring that the deserved people get the benefit of the welfare schemes. The leader said AP government had already issued notification and filled nearly 10,000 teacher posts, whereas in Telangana no teacher recruitment was done in the last two years.
The AP government also announced filling of 10,000 posts through APSPSC (Andhra Pradesh State Public Service Commission) in various administrative departments. In Telangana, barring technical and some engineering posts in some departments, no general recruitment had been done so far. The government postponed Group -2 examinations.
“This will be the main issue in the campaign,” the senior leader said. The TDP leader said while AP was going ahead at a fast pace in constructing new capital city at Amaravati, the TS government was still wavering on whether or not to shift the state Secretariat to a new place or not.
The party sources said they would also highlight how the High Court had been pulling up the government on various decisions it had taken including GO 123 pertaining to land acquisition from farmers under Mallannasagar reservoir, quashing of Vice Chancellors appointment and Parliam entary Secretaries, etc.
