Hyderabad: Justice M S Ramachandra Rao of the High Court at Hyderabad on Friday directed the Principal Secretary for Home to submit a report on the allegation of illegal detention of a businessman and his employees by Narsingi police in Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits.

The judge was dealing with a petition filed by M/S.EIDER Industries Limited, Maroju Shiva Kumar and Ms Nirmala Rani, alleging that the L B Nagar Deputy Police Commissioner, Saroornagar Assistant Police Commissioner and Narsingi Police Inspector had confined them from July 21 to 25 at a function hall in Saroornagar.

The petitioners further alleged that the police had collected cheques in favour of private respondent and forcibly taken away bunch of keys of their factory while threatening the staff with dire consequences if they tried to open the locks of the factory and start business activities with the help of duplicate keys.

They complained that the police had further threatened them that they would be implicated in dozens of cases. The judge directed the Home Secretary to inquire into the matter and to file the report.
