SIT looking for 5 more key associates of Nayeem
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the criminal activities of slain gangster Nayeemuddin has booked about 50 cases across the State based on the complaints received so far. The team is striving to nab five more persons who were involved in murders along with Nayeemuddin.
​Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the criminal activities of slain gangster Nayeemuddin has booked about 50 cases across the State based on the complaints received so far. The team is striving to nab five more persons who were involved in murders along with Nayeemuddin.
According to sources, the SIT has arrested 50 persons, including 39 of his relatives, so far for playing key role in the offences committed by the gangster. But two of his close associates, Seshanna and Anil, and three others are still absconding. A hunt is on to nab them and unearth more about the criminal activities of Nayeem.
Some of the arrested associates of Nayeem were wanted in several other cases. With this, the police are reopening cases in which Nayeem and his associates were involved, said the sources. A team of SIT, meanwhile, is on the job of analysing the SIM cards recovered from Nayeem’s houses and tracking the numbers to find out with who all Nayeem was in contact.
Meanwhile, the Narsingi police filed a petition in the Rajendranagar court on Tuesday, seeking 14-day custody of Nayeem’s wife Haseena Begum and his sister-in-law Saleema Begum for questioning. The duo was arrested by the police from Shadnagar after Nayeem was gunned down on August 8.
The Narsingi police had brought the women to Hyderabad on PT warrant. The police asked the court to grant them custody of the two women, to learn about the criminal activities that occurred at Nayeem’s houses.
