When it comes to protecting common interests, political affiliations and differences takes a back seat. Karimnagar: When it comes to protecting common interests, political affiliations and differences takes a back seat. In the latest such instance, TRS MLA Eatala Rajender representing from Huzurabad constituency and Congress MLA, V Sathish Kumar from Husnabad have opted to bury the hatchet to demand the creation of PV (former Prime Minister, Narasimha Rao) district.
The reason for this camaraderie between the two political rivals is protect their hold over their respective domains. It may be recalled that there was a long-standing tussle between Huzurabad and Husnabad to become revenue divisions.
During the Congress regime, Husnabad was made revenue division ignoring decades-old demand of Huzurabad leaders. However, after the TRS came to power, Eatala Rajender succeeded in reversing the decision in favour of Huzurabad.
Thereafter, the decision was challenged in the court of law. Against this backdrop, the politicos of both the constituencies had locked horns over the issue of revenue division until the recent past. But since the incorporation of all six mandals of Husnabad constituency equally in three different districts Siddipet, Hanamkonda (Warangal Urban) and Karimnagar, the politicos of both the regions have now united for a
common cause.
Right from the day one, people in Husnabad and Koheda mandals are vehemently opposing their merger with Siddipet district. The readjustment of mandals to necessitate Sircilla district has added more fuel to the ongoing agitations across Husnabad and Huzurabad constituencies.
Now with the latest composition, the segment will concede Elkaturthy and Bheemadevarapally mandals to Warangal Urban. This could be an inconvenient situation for Husnabad MLA V Sathish Kumar, according to sources close to him.
On the other hand, Eatala Rajender also appears to be in a piquant situation as his home town, Kamalapur mandal headquarters has been included in Hanamkonda (Warangal Urban) district, thus making him a non-local in his own constituency.
Moreover, majority of people in Huzurabad constituency are well connected to Warangal compared to the existing Karimnagar district headquarters owing to its proximity and better education and healthcare facilities.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that Eatala Rajender is facing immense pressure from the TRS cadres to pursue the formation of PV District with the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
“We have had YSR District (Kadapa) named after former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. Can’t PV Narasimha Rao, who belongs to this region and reached the pinnacle of politics to become the Prime Minister of the country, deserve a district named after him,” Avunuri Sammaiah, the T-JAC Huzurabad chairman, told The Hans India.
Husnabad-Koheda Parirakshana Committee All-party convener Kedam Lingamurthy also demanded the government to create a new district in the name of PV so that both Huzurabad and Husnabad constituencies would be benefited.
