Hyderabad: Congress Kisan cell State Chairman M Kodanda Reddy on Tuesday criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for focussing the attention on real estate at the Cabinet meeting and ignoring the plight of farmers.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here, Kodanda Reddy lashed out at the TRS government for neglecting the farm sector.

The government lacked policy for the welfare of farmers, he said. Both the Centre and State governments had no concern for farmers’ plight.

Both governments were more interested in welfare of big babus. He stated that the Congress government had given priority to the agriculture sector during its 10 year regime.

Finding fault with the centre, which gave permission to petrol bunks to accept demonetised notes and not giving permission to the Co-operative banks, Kodanda Reddy said the cooperative banks were recognised by none other than RBI.

The same government allowed cooperative banks to purchase foodgrains and undertake the responsibility of distribution of fertilisers, pesticides and seeds, he said.
