Bike rally against drug abuse held
In addition to the awareness campaign being run in the city against drug abuse amongst the youngsters, Telangana Chamber of Events and Industry (TCEI) organised a ``Bike ride of entertainers” from Park Hyatt, Banjara Hills to Hitex, Hitech city on Sunday. The programme also marks the third year of their excellence award event.
Hyderabad: In addition to the awareness campaign being run in the city against drug abuse amongst the youngsters, Telangana Chamber of Events and Industry (TCEI) organised a ``Bike ride of entertainers” from Park Hyatt, Banjara Hills to Hitex, Hitech city on Sunday. The programme also marks the third year of their excellence award event.
Commissioner of Excise department in Telangana, R V Chandravadan, who attended the event as the chief guest, addressed the gathering and expressed his concern over the intensity of drug abuse in city.
``Though the situation seems serious, it is still under control and Prohibition and Excise Department is taking harsh measures to control the situation,” he said. He further said that it is a social aspect and such campaigns help in involving the society to fight against the issue.
The president of TCEI Suraj Singh Malhotra, who was also present at the event, said the organisation works towards presenting events for the society and hence their contribution to such serious matters is a must.
``We take it as our duty to collaborate ourselves with the officials to bring awareness among the people about the issue,” he said. Vice President of TCEI Abhijit Bhattacharya, Miss Asia Pacific Abhimanika Tavi, DJ Piyush and others participated in the event.
