Oustees protest by climbing cell tower
Five farmers N Jeevan, N Ravinder, N Suman, N Satra and N Kumar of Chintha Chettu Thanda under Gajinagar of Kondamallepally mandal in the district climbed the cell tower at the District Collectorate in Nalgonda on Tuesday evening
Nalgonda: Five farmers N Jeevan, N Ravinder, N Suman, N Satra and N Kumar of Chintha Chettu Thanda under Gajinagar of Kondamallepally mandal in the district climbed the cell tower at the District Collectorate in Nalgonda on Tuesday evening.
They are oustees of Pendlipkala reservoir. They protested at not getting compensation for their lands even after two years after their lands were acquired for the reservoir. Police rushed to the spot along with DRO Kheemya Naik, CI Durga Prasad and persuaded them to climb down the tower.
They assured the farmers that they would bring their grievance to the attention of the Collector. After four hours of drams, the farmers climbed down the tower.
Later, they met District Collector Gurav Upal. The Collector assured them that he would look into their grievance.
