Youth tries to molest a minor girl

Janagaon: A youth who allegedly tried to molest a minor girl pushed her into a well after she raised the alarm at Uppugal village under Zaffergadh mandal in Jangaon district on Saturday. According to police, 23-year-old Dasoju Rajesh Chary, a daily wage worker, tried to sexually assault a 17-year-old girl and when she resisted and raised a hue and cry, he dragged her to a nearby agriculture well and pushed her into it. Later, he also jumped into the well. The girl, who sustained injuries, was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

ACP Madhusudhan said that the girl was studying Intermediate second year in a private college in Hanamkonda. The neighbours who gathered at the scene pulled the girl out with the help of a rope. Later, the police, who rushed to the spot, pulled Rajesh out of the well with the help of fire brigade. It’s learnt that seeing the neighbours gather Rajesh jumped into the well. The police booked a case against Rajesh.
