Telangana: SC dismisses plea seeking enhancement of BC reservation in local body polls

The country's apex court on Friday dismissed the petition filed by Telangana government seeking enhancement of BC reservation to 67 per cent in local body polls.

The government told the Supreme Court that the state has high BC population and needs a reservation in the local body polls. Dismissing the plea, the court said that the reservation cannot be exceeded by 50 per cent.
