Huzurnagar: TRS supporters attacked an official at the polling booth number 139 in Vellatur village of Huzurnagar constituency after he allegedly forced an old aged disabled voter to cast his vote to a party against his will.

The voter Kandukuri Boddaiah who urged the help of EVM operator while exercising his vote was forced to vote for Congress instead of his choice TRS. The incident came to light after a TRS agent of respective polling booth noticed the official exercising the Boddaiah's vote.

The TRS agent along with his fellow leaders thrashed the officer. The official later admitted that he had cast three votes against the will of elderly and disabled voters. Security police saved him from the attackers and send him to hospital for treatment.

The episode created tension at the said polling station and polling was halted for one hour and war of words between local Congress and TRS leaders. After the incident, polling at booth number 139 was carried out peacefully under the tight supervision of police and election officials.
