Medchal: District Joint Collector D Srinivas Reddy ordered the district authorities to gear up for the upcoming panchayat elections. He spoke at a meeting held to review the progress of various government programs at District Collectorate Office, Keesara, on Monday.

Addressing the district officials, he instructed them to form district-level advisory committees. He said that the printing of 1.35-lakh ballot papers have been completed and about 20,000 additional ballot papers are yet to be printed. He informed the authorities that the elections for cooperative societies would be held immediately after panchayat elections.

During the meeting, the joint collector ordered R&B officials and Panchayat Raj EE to complete all the road-widening and repairs works before elections. He also instructed forest officials to establish nurseries at each village and ensure that the required saplings are grown in nurseries. He discussed on the establishment of integrated fish markets in the districts. He ordered the electricity officials to complete the works at Muduchintalapalli.

He instructed the officials to provide compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the kin and kith of those who died in electrocution accidents. He reviewed the progress of repair and construction of sports’ grounds in the district and urged the officials to complete the works at the earliest. Srinivas Reddy also reviewed the progress of the distribution of Bathukamma sarees and Christmas gifts and urged the officials to complete the program successfully.
