Apart from big banners even big directors are waiting for the dates of Nagababu’s son. “Honestly, Varun Tej has no dates to spare,” says a source, close to the family. “He has another 6 to 7 scripts on hand and he is going through them leisurely,” the source adds. In fact, he has surpassed his kin and actor Sai Dharam Tej in popularity because Sai has just three scripts on hand.
“At the moment, Varun is ahead of Sai Dharam because Varun is getting both love stories as well as action films, while Sai is approached only for action-centric scripts,” the source points out. Despite Varun’s last film ‘Anthariksham’ turning out to be a damp squib, his earlier blockbuster ‘Tholi Prema’ and recent sensational hit ‘F2’ has put him ahead of his peers.
“Varun fits into soft spoken roles as well as tough roles to inspire writers to come up with different stories. His role with negative shades in the remake of Tamil film ‘Jigarthanda’ will expand his brand image,” the source concludes.
Varun suffered flops at early stage of his career with duds like ‘Loafer’ and ‘Mister’ before Sekar Kammula almost re-launched him with ‘Fidaa’ and altered the trajectory of the actor’s career.
