Currently the Zilla Parishad continues to be part of the erstwhile Medak district. A total of 15 ZPTCs are representing the parishad. After the reorganisation of the districts, Haveli Ghanpur, Nizampeta, Narsingi, Manoharabad and Chilpatchadu mandals are established. With this, the district will now have 20 ZPTC members. At the same time, elections will be held for 189 MPTC seats.

As part of the territorial election, nominations for MPTC and ZPTCP seats will be accepted at Mandala Parishad offices. Until now, the nominations used to file at the district headquarters of undivided Medak district Sagar Reddy. District reorganisation has resulted in receiving the nominations in the mandalas rather than the district headquarters.

A Returning Officer and an Assistant Returning Officer has been appointed for the three MPTC seats. A Returning Officer has been appointed for a ZPTC position. As many as 70 ROs, 70 AROs and 20 ROs for ZPTCs are assigned.

A total of 1,032 polling stations have been identified for conducting elections in 20 mandals in the district to manage territorial elections. The final list will be announced on April 20. MPDOs will meet with leaders of political parties on 17th of this month. Later, the details of the polling stations will be announced.

Political heat is continuing in villages with the Election Commission preparing for territorial elections. This election is conducted based on symbols of political parties so from small to moderate leaders are vying for the tickets.

They are trying hard for the tickets with the recommendations of MLAs and other popular leaders of the party. As many as 10 seats are allotted to women and 10 are for the general out of 20 seats available in the district. Leader who had already represented these seats are once again asking for another chance to contest. They are also fielding their wives in the seats reserved to women.
