Burgumpahad (Kothagudem): Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Former MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy demanded the State government to pay compensation to farmers whose lost their crops to recent floods in the district. Ponguleti along with his party members visited the damaged fields in the Burgumpahad mandal on Tuesday and interacted with the affected farmers.

Addressing the media later, Ponguleti demanded the government to construct new Karakatta in Burgumpahad mandal. He alleged that the TRS government was not keen on solving farmers issues and Chief Minster K Chandrashekar Rao was very conveniently going back on his poll promises. He said TRS government had failed to address various issues of the farming community in the last one year. "Not a single official paid a visit to assess the damage," he said.

The BJP leader demanded the Chief Minster to immediately provide financial support to farmers who lost their crop to the floods. Party district president B Prabhaker Reddy, secretary Behra Raju and others accompanied Ponguleti.
