A five-year-old boy drowned in Gandipet lake near Manikonda on Thursday. The police fished out the body and handed over to the deceased parents after post-mortem.
The victim, identified as Anand, a native of Odisha, was living with his parents in a nearby temporary hut. His parents work as labourers in various construction sites in the city. Anand accidentally slipped into the canal when he went to fetch some water.
The police registered a case and launched an investigation.
On April 28, a seven-year-old boy identified as Prasanna Babu drowned in swimming pool at a farmhouse in Narsingi where he went to attend a family function.
The boy is learned to have slipped in the water while he was playing.
