Meeting between TRS MP and Shah assumes significance after the TRS leadership turned cold towards him
Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Rajya Sabha, MP D Srinivas met BJP chief and Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Delhi on Thursday.
According to BJP party sources, the senior leader met the Union Home Minister incidentally as his son Dharmapuri Aravind has been elected on BJP ticket from Nizamabad Lok Sabha defeating TRS candidate and K Chandrashekar Rao's daughter K Kavitha.
The meeting between the BJP chief and the TRS MP has been termed as a courtesy call. However, the senior leader has reportedly expressed his displeasure, after the TRS leadership including the party Chief K Chandrashekar Rao turned cold towards him.
It may be mentioned here that Srinivas attended the TRS parliamentary party meeting on Wednesday.
But, the TRS MPs had not extended routine courtesies and greetings to the senior leader. None of the TRS MPs even spoke to Srinivas making him feel unwanted forcing him to leave the TRS parliamentary party meeting half-way.
It was against this backdrop that meeting between Srinivas and Amit Shah has assumed significance.
He might be the firstsitting TRS MP who is all set to leave the party to join the BJP, the sources said.
