Sangareddy: Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali observed here on Thursday that prisoners after completing their sentences were living with honour, thanks to the reforms being implemented by the jails department.

Speaking after inaugurating a Bharat Petroleum filling station on the premises of the old jail here, he stated that department had introduced many reforms which were unique to the state. Ali said the police department was also being strengthened.

The minister said the Prisons department was running 19 petrol bunks across the State, including the latest one. The bunk would employ 15 prisoners, resulting in honourable living of their families. District Collector M Hanumanth Rao said the department's reforms would pave way for good behavior of prisoners, with rehabilitation and a proper place in society.
