Hyderabad: The private diagnostic labs and hospitals doing Covid-19 testing have been told not to indulge in new marketing methods to charge extra amount from people or force them for home collection of samples. Also, the diagnostic managements are directed to ensure sample collecting technicians wear PPEs to ensure they don't get infection or people undergoing tests are not infected.

Health Minister Eatala Rajender held a meeting with private diagnostic managements and representatives on Tuesday morning. He told them to do testing as per ICMR guidelines and for symptomatic persons only.

He also told them to impress upon people coming for tests to stay in quarantine and not move out of their houses until test results come out.

Also, private labs were told to upload information of positive cases on the Health department portal without fail every day. Labs should not look at the present Corona situation as a commercial opportunity, the Minister said.
