Hyderabad: Inox to sell water bottles at MRP

INOX in Banjara Hills has been directed to sell water bottles at MRP by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC).
The forum issued the orders pertaining to a case registered by Forum Against Corruption (FAC) against GVK One in 2017 for overpricing water bottles.
INOX was fined Rs 5000 for charging Rs 50 for a water bottle in 2017 and was also directed to provide free drinking water to its consumers.
Vijay Gopal, a social activist filed a complaint after he was not allowed to carry a water bottle inside the mall and was charged Rs 50 for the bottle which was Rs 20 outside.
Besides INOX, several other multiplexes in the city overpricing the water bottles, said Gopal.
