Jangaon: The passengers bound for Jagadgirigutta in Hyderabad from Husnabad had a providential escape when the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus in which they were travelling collided with a cement-laden truck near Mariyapuram crossroad under Tharigoppula police station limits on Friday morning. Seven passengers sustained minor injuries in the mishap. The locals rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers besides informing the Tharigoppula police.

The police shifted them to the Government Area Hospital in Jangaon. The police had a tough time to clear the traffic jam that extended to over one kilometer on the highway.

According to Tharigoppula Sub-inspector D Haritha, the mishap occurred due to invisibility caused by the early morning fog and over speeding by the truck driver. Haritha said that a case has been registered against the truck driver and investigation is on.
