Karimnagar: "It is everyone's minimum responsibility to protect nature. If we protect the nature, it will protect us," said Gundi village sarpanch G Manasa Praveen.

On World Environmental Day, Sun Rice Youth Club planted saplings as part of Haritha Haram in the premises of Gundi village panchayat on Friday. Sarpanch Manasa Praveen asked the villagers to come forward voluntarily to participate in Haritha Haram and plant various kinds of saplings to transform the village as pollution-free.

National Youth award winner Alwal Vishnu said youth must strive hard for protecting the nature.

It is the responsibility of the present generation to hand over best and clean environment for future generations without exploiting it.

Village youth must take initiation for creating pleasant atmosphere and greenery in villages by encouraging villagers to participate actively in Haritha Haram programme, he appealed.

Deputy Sarpanch M Srinivas Goud, Sun Rise Youth Club President Sri Ramoju Sai Kumar, village youth Raghu, Srikanth, Kamal, Rakesh, Ajay, K Nagaraju and G Prashanth were present along with others.
