Hyderabad: On the 18th TRS formation day on Saturday, party supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao spent most of his time in spiritual activity.

KCR visited Sharada Peetham pontiff Swami Swaroopanandendra Saraswathi at the latter's guest house in Hyderabad and sought his blessings.

Before meeting the Swami, KCR attended a puja at CM's official residence - Pragati Bhavan.

Accompanied by party leaders and legislators, including TRS MP J Santhosh Kumar, the Chief Minister met the Swami and felicitated him.

He blessed KCR. On invitation from the Swami, the TRS chief expressed his readiness to attend a religious ceremony to be organised in June in Vijayawada.

KCR explained to the pontiff about the reasons for his absence in the recently-conducted yagam at the main peetham in Visakhapatnam.

KCR and the Swami also had a brief one-to-one meeting. It is learnt that KCR sought Swami's suggestions to lead his proposed Federal Front after the announcement of Lok Sabha election results in May last week.

The TRS chief is learnt to have told the Swami that he proposes to visit some states mainly West Bengal, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh and seek the support of important leaders to promote the Front as an alternative to the BJP and Congress in the formation of government at the Centre.

The recent statement made by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee that the Federal Front may form a government at the Centre assumed political significance. KCR has already met Mamata for two times in Kolkata.

Sources said that KCR is likely to go on a brief visit to New Delhi in May second week and meet some important leaders.

His vision document explaining the Federal Front's aims and objectives was already circulated to the national media and also to the like-minded political leaders.

KCR is sharing his views with some national leaders on phone and inviting them to join the Front after the announcement of the election results.
