Malkajgiri: Anandbagh Road under bridge works resume
The ongoing works for the construction of Road under bridge (RuB) at Anandbagh, which were stopped due to opposition from house owners who lost their lands, were resumed by the new contractor.
Malkajgiri: The ongoing works for the construction of Road under bridge (RuB) at Anandbagh, which were stopped due to opposition from house owners who lost their lands, were resumed by the new contractor.
An effort was made by the local MLA who held all party meeting to address the issue. However, the works could not be resumed as many house owners filed cases in courts against land acquisition.
Various party leaders appealed house owners to withdraw cases keeping in mind the overall interests of people. Most of them have withdrawn cases but five to six cases were yet to be withdrawn. Meanwhile, R&B and GHMC officials allocated the work to a new contractor as the remaining court cases may be finalised soon.
The new contractor resumed the works from Wednesday. R&B and GHMC officials, including GHMC Deputy Commissioner T Dasharath, visited the site on Wednesday and inspected the works. Speaking on the occasion, officials hoped that the works would be completed within the next three to four months and RuB may be opened for public use.
