The new district body for the Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) was elected unanimously in a big meeting that was held here at the Press Bhavan in Karimnagar Monday.

Karimnagar: The new district body for the Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) was elected unanimously in a big meeting that was held here at the Press Bhavan in Karimnagar Monday.

The body was formed under the supervision of the national president and social scientist Dr MVR Krishnaji, state president K Ram Reddy, State general secretary U Nagaraju Gaud and State secretary Vishwam.

District Science Forum president Bandi Pelli Parasharamulu was elected as district president of JVV, Science Officer Swadesh Kumar as honourable president, science teacher Odelu Kumar as district general secretary, S Rajesah as treasurer and Janipelli Bhupathi Rao as district secretary along with others.

Later, speaking to the media persons at the press meet held on the occasion, the national president of the JVV, Dr MVR Krishnaji said that the organisation which was formed in Vijayawada in 1988 in Tummalapalli Kalakshethram under Dr V Brahmah Reddy, Dr P Rammohan Rao and Dr K Nageshwra Rao is flourishing day-by-day and is spread over five States with more than 25,000 members.

The organisation is striving hard for rendering its services for building up better civil society through various awareness programmes. Every individual who has crossed 18 years of age and has scientific approach can join the organisation and can play an important role in leading the nation towards development, he appealed.
