Hyderabad: The police bandobust arrangements to foil the proposed Maha Deeksha of MRPS on Sunday at Indira Park dharna chowk caused severe inconvenience to common public.
The MRPS called for Maha Deeksha in support of the TSRTC employees stir. Due to the barricades and blocking of roads leading towards Indira Park created many problems to children, women and senior citizens in the area.
The public waited for hours to get clearance from police personnel to move towards dharna chowk junction and cross the barricades.
The problems of family members and relatives of a wedding couple who performed their marriage at Pingali Venkatram Reddy function hall in Lower Tank Bund on Sunday were uncommunicative.
Most of the relatives who came to attend the wedding and bless the couple, in hot day walked for kilometres from Ashok Nagar crossroad.
Some of the youngsters turned back as police personnel did not allow them to cross the barricades. In some cases, police to an extent tried to shift women and senior citizens with small children in their police patrolling vehicles to meet the emergency needs at hospitals situated near lower Tank Bund.
Even though the police tried to extend an olive branch the public in general was not happy because of the huge inconvenience caused.
