Under Papi Reddy's leadership, TSCHE committee members on Wednesday inspected various locations in Peddur, Sardapur and Venkatapur villages in Sircilla district for the establishment of an engineering college under JNTU. The Joint Collector explained the committee members about the possibilities to set up the college in the district.

Later speaking at a press meet at the Collectorate conference hall, TSCHE Chairman Prof Papi Reddy said 88 acres land present in the survey numbers of 61 and 247 of Sardapur and Venkatapur villages are suitable for the college.

The place is convenient for transport facilities with many basic facilities already present in the surroundings. The place is ideal for the students of not only Sircilla district but also for those students of Siddipet, Kamareddy, Nizamabad and Adilabad districts. Within two years, a railway line also will be laid in this route, so it would more convenient for the professors and for the students, he added.

Prof Papi Reddy appreciated District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar and Joint Collector Yasmin Basha for identifying best place for the establishment of engineering college in the district. After receiving complete details from the district administration, the matter will be taken to the notice of the government for setting up a model engineering college in the district, he assured.

TSCHE vice-chairman Prof V Venkat Ramana, JNTU Engineering College Principal E Sai Baba Reddy, OU Engineering College Principal Prof A Krishnaiah, DRO N Khimya Nayak, RDO T Srinivas Rao, Survey and Land Record Officer Srinivas and Tahsildar Anjanna were present along with others.
