Hyderabad: Transport Minister V Prashanth Reddy on Tuesday said a special cell would be formed at RTA offices to take complaints and suggestions from the motorists and these complaints would be reviewed once in a month.

A committee has been formed by the Minister to study the online services and suggestions for transparency in the department.

The Minister reviewed the transport department on Tuesday. The Minister said the government would bring changes in the transport department.

A committee has been formed for suggesting changes and it would give its report within two weeks. The committee would also bring in a mobile application for the online services.

The Minister said a grievance redressal cell would be opened at the State Level in the office of the Transport Commissioner with one independent land line, WhatsApp number and e-mail ID and one person would be designated to attend the calls and the grievances would be closely monitored by the Transport Commissioner.

He said the grievance cell should be functional at every district office and it should be monitored at the level of the DTOs and all the DTOs should send the abstract of the grievance particulars like complaints received, solved and pendency once in a month to the Minister.

The Minister also reviewed the pendency of cards in the RTA offices. There are 2.30 lakh cards pending for printing, mainly in Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal and Mancherial districts.

The vendor who had to give 5,000 ribbons had supplied only 2,000 ribbons, which resulted in shortage of cards, he said.
