Ashok Gajapati Raju moves High Court over Sanchaita's appointment as MANSAS chairperson
The dispute over the appointment of Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju, daughter of former MP P. Ananda Gajapathi Raju as chairperson of MANSAS ((Maharaja Alak Narayana Society of Arts and Science) Trust has now reached the High Court.
The dispute over the appointment of Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju, daughter of former MP P. Ananda Gajapathi Raju as chairperson of MANSAS ((Maharaja Alak Narayana Society of Arts and Science) Trust has now reached the High Court. In the latest development, former Union Minister Mr Ashok Gajapathi Raju moved the high court challenging Jagan Mohan Reddy government's decision of sacking him from chairman post of the MANSAS trust.
He argued that the appointment had been made in contravention to the law of the society, which states that no female member in the family has the right to be appointed as the chairman. In the petition, Ashok Gajapathi Raju requested the High Court to suspend the implementation of the two GOs issued by the Andhra Pradesh government of appointing Sanchaita as chairperson of the trust.
He said in the petition that the trust was established in 1958 under the name of his grandfather, Alak Narayan Gajapati Raju, which was later run by his father PVG Raju followed by his brother Anand Gajapathi Raju till 2016. The former union minister asserted that he has been the chairman of the trust since 2016.
It remains to be seen how the High Court would respond to the petition.
