Tirupati: CITU demanded Rockman Industries to immediately reinstate the 250 employees it had removed from service and warned that they will intensify the protest stir if the employees are not reinstated.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, CITU Chittoor district general secretary Kandarapu Murali said the Rockman Industries, with its headquarters in Ludhiana, Punjab is one of the oldest company in Chittoor district established in 1960 at Panguru village near Srikalahasti. About 1,000 employees, including 250 locals work in the unit.

The management under the pretext of losses due to lockdown, removed the 250 local employees violating the Centre and Sate government orders which clearly states that there should be no retrenchment of any employees for any reason during the lockdown.

The company is also blatantly violating all the labour laws like issuing of ID cards to all employees in service, ESI and PF facilities, he said.

A round table conference will be held here on June 11 to press Rockman Industries to reinstate the employees, he said.
