As per a proposal by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for maintenance and repairs of major roads in the city, GHMC Kapra Circle has commenced the works and has so far completed laying of CC roads in the area. It also paved way in sub-lanes of four major areas in Kapra.

Kapra: As per a proposal by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for maintenance and repairs of major roads in the city, GHMC Kapra Circle has commenced the works and has so far completed laying of CC roads in the area. It also paved way in sub-lanes of four major areas in Kapra.

On October 20, the GHMC declared that the restoration of the new CC roads, repairs and re-carpeting of the damage roads, caused by the recent rains, should start from October 22 and should end by November 10.

Koteshwar Rao, Engineering Executive, GHMC-Kapra, said, "A total amount of Rs 153.45 lakh has been sanctioned for the repair works of roads under Kapra circle. The repairs and laying of CC roads have been sanctioned for 12 areas in Kapra, out of which three roads have been completed successfully. We have been working on the repairing of the roads before hands due to the downpour in the city."

Rs 1.95 lakh has been sanctioned for the works that include repairs and re-carpeting of damaged existing Bitumen (BT) roads and laying of CC roads. The laying of CC roads in North Kamala Nagar, Dr AS Rao Nagar, Venkataramana Colony in Mallapur and Raghavendra Nagar in Nacharam has been completed so far.

The repair and recarpeting of the damaged BT roads in areas including Kapra Lake, Sainikpuri Petro Bunk, Dhaba Gardens to Yellareddy guda junction ward no: 1, GR Reddy Nagar, Sri Nagar and internal lanes of North Kamala Nagar, Dr AS Rao Nagar, Mahesh Nagar are in Progress and is expected to be completed by the deadline.

A Yogesh, a resident of Nacharam said, "After the recent spells of downpour in the city, the condition of roads in North Kamala Nagar has become worse. There are potholes in the areas which need to be covered as soon as possible." Nitin G, a medical shop owner in Kushaiguda said, "The condition of roads in Kushaiguda was quite bad for the past many months. The roads were either dug up and left or were filled with many gaps. However, the GHMC has started working on this issue of roads unexpectedly."
